D3Prototypes helps founders and teams turn hardware ideas into working devices —
fast enough to test, clear enough to show, and real enough to move forward.
We help bridge the gap between “this should exist” and
“here it is, working in front of you.”
If you can describe the product, we can help make it real.
D3Prototypes is a Toronto-based, builder-led hardware studio serving founders and product
teams across North America.
Our work is practical by nature. We design, build, test, and revise quickly, using each
prototype to answer real engineering questions and move the product closer to a version
that can be manufactured.
As the design matures, we help connect the work to capable partners for PCBs, enclosures,
sourcing, kitting, and assembly.

Commercial fleet material-tracking system
Work on a publicly deployed winter-maintenance platform: in-cab operator hardware,
custom wiring harnesses, and rugged spreader-side sensing to track material use in
the field. Contributions also included integration support for GPS-linked reporting
and operator-facing guidance in demanding commercial operating conditions.

Smart in-home medication companion prototype
Work on a connected prototype for a smart in-home medication companion — from early
mechanical concept through integrated system bring-up. Scope included enclosure and
mechanical iteration, embedded control and motor/sensor
integration, vision and detection logic, audio and network behavior, and PCB/BOM
coordination toward small-batch prototype manufacturing — with ongoing refinement
toward pilot-ready units.
